We need to appreciate our fearless pollinators more often, the honeybee. Here at Apricoty, we love bees for all of the ecosystem services that they provide, but also for their natural ability to create delicious honey and secret works of art. And we mean honeycomb of course! Recall the inside of a bee’s hive and all of the interlocking hexagons the bees have the ability to create. They truly are nature’s artists, and we at Apricoty would frame some comb if we could! But we wouldn’t want to disturb any bees by taking a large chunk of their comb away, so we made a candle instead! Made of 100% pure, local beeswax, this candle features a hexagonal pillar that’s decorated by comb-like compartments. And a hive wouldn’t be complete without some little bees of course, so there are honeybees that decorate each face of the candle. This intricate candle pays homage to nature’s unsung artists and pollinators. Have a piece of nature right inside your home and appreciate all that bees do for us by lighting this beeswax work of art in their honor.
PRECAUTIONS WHEN BURNING A CANDLE:
Remember to trim the wick to 1/4″ and don’t burn more than a few hours before trimming and relighting. This will increase your burn time and help prevent smoke and overheating that can cause the candle to crack or combust.
Place candles on a hard, flat surface with a tray to catch drips that will not be damaged by heat, flame, smoke.
Do not burn candles near furniture, drapes, carpet, paper or anything that could catch fire or be damaged if the candle cracks or breaks due to heat, smokes or catches fire.
- Do not burn candles in a draft. It is unsafe and can also cause the candles to burn unevenly.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- It is recommended that you don’t burn a candle made with this bowl to the bottom where the flame could come in close contact with the wood.
